Admonterhaus Grabneralm 13 Km / 840 m The walk begins at the parking lot directly to Admonterhaus at the "Buchauersattel" on 885m. The little road pass "Buchauersattel" is between Admont and St. Gallen in the beautiful Styrian region Gesäuse. The first part of the walk leads at a forest road to the Grabneralm house and there are no hiking boots required. For the path from Grabneralm house to Admonterhaus sturdy walking shoes are highly recommended. The walking tour to Grabneralm is suitable for children over 8 years and the path to the Admonterhaus from about 12 years. Until Grabneralm you go about 1.5 hours, and 45 min. from the Grabneralm to Admonterhaus.

Altaussee 7,8 Km / 68 m The trail around Altaussee is suitable for the whole family, including baby carriages. The road around the lake is for runners, walkers and families very popular. The Altaussee is surrounded by some very beautiful mountains and there is a boat rental, boat and beach restaurants line the Altaussee offers some secluded beaches to relax on.

Altaussee - Winter Hiking 4 Km / 82 m The winter hiking trail in Altaussee begins just as the Blaa Alm - Rettenbachalm cross-country skiing at the ski school near the station of the ski arena Loser. The trail leads after the a low pitch slightly sloping on the west side of the pasture Blaa Alm to the Rettenbachalm crossing. During the tour you'll have a lot of very good vantage points. From there the trail leads back to the excellent inn Blaa Alm and the starting point.

Ardning - Ardningalm 22 Km / 790 m From Ardning on Ardningalm and Bacheralm to Hall at Admont. Scenic walk on a continuous forest path. No climbing and suitable for the whole family. Families with children can also take the car to the Ardningalm and take a walk from there.

Bodensee lake Styria 6,5 Km / 430 m At the lake "Bodensee" in Upper Styria, you can either make a very nice walk around the lake or take a not very long but challenging hike to the valley higher to Hüttensee and Obersee. The Inn "Forellenhof" on Lake Bodensee and the Franz Wödl hut on Hüttensee are the two best opportunities for a stop on this walk in the Schladming Tauern. The Franz Wödl hut in the Schladming Tauern is situated at the end of the Seewigtal. The trail leads from Bodensee over a steep and rocky trail and the waterfall up to the next valley to the lake Hüttensee just 25m below the Franz Wödl hut. If that were not enough, you can hike also to the lake "Obersee" and to some very beautiful mountains, such as the Hochwildstelle.

Bosruck - Lahnerkogel - Fuchsalm On Pyhrnpass between Styria and Upper Austria is located in the southeast the lovely pasture Fuchsalm. The easy hike is just 1.4 km long. From the Fuchsalm you can take the path Nr.610 and hike in about 2 hours on the mountain Lahnerkogel. The moderate hike with about 900 altimeters has no exposed parts. Much more difficult is the following hiking path from the Lahnerkogel to the Kitzstein and Bosruck. On the trail over the ridge there are some short, easy climbs and rope sections. For this, the tour from Lahnerkogel to Bosruck has many good vantage points.

Deneck - Kaltenbach Lakes 9 Km / 873 Hm The very beautiful and moderate mountain tour on the three Kaltenbach lakes up to the Schafspitz 2.316m and Deneck 2.433m starts by the hut Kaltenbachalm. The tour is located near the Sölkpass in the Nature park Söltäler. Many older people and families with young children hike the easy but also very interesting part to the lake Lower Kaltenbachsee. Along the Sölkpaß there are some beautiful pastures and huts to relax after the tour.

Duisitzkarsee 9,9 Km / 553 m The hike to the lake Duisitzkarsee near Schladming in the Obertal - Community of Rohrmoos – Untertal is highly recommended from June to October. As an alternative to the moderate hiking trail leads also a forestry road to the huts Duisitzkarseehütte and Fahrlechhütte. Very nice is the landscape at the Duisitzkarsee on calm days, because the surrounding mountains are reflected in the lake.

The mountain Dürrenschöberl (1.737m) is located in the northwestern part of the Eisenerzer Alps. There are four marked trails to the very easy to reach summit: Selzthal, Rottenmann, Ardning and Admont. Due to its relatively low height of the mountain tour is possible very early withour snow. In winter it can be safely mounted on touring skis or snowshoes, as almost to the top grow trees. The inconspicuous mountain offers excellent views.

Grazer Schloßberg 3,4 Km / 128 m The walk from the main square up to the Clocktower and the hill - Schloßberg is especially in warm summer nights and early mornings highly recommended. On the way back you can still make a little detour on the Mur Island. All those who do not go up 260 steps, it gives a railway and a lift to get up to the castle hill.

| The Grimming 2.351m is one of the most impressive mountains in the Alps. Since he rises 1.700m steep up from the Ennstal valley, the people believed that he is the highest mountain in Styria. In any case, a good fitness level and vertigo are conditions for experienced climbers to climb up the Grimming safely. It is very important to study the weather report before and observe the weather during the tour. For unfamiliar, or not so experienced mountaineers I recommend to hike a Grimmingtour with an experienced mountain guide. |

Großer Bösenstein 10,2 Km / 919 m The highly recommended hike tour in Hohentauern / Styria on the mountain “Großer Bösenstein” is a magnificent circular walk, which is about 5-6 hours long. Overall, you’ll climb on the Tour 4 summit "Hauseck" 1.982m, "Großer Bösenstein" 2.448m, "Kleiner Bösenstein" 2.395m and "Großer Hengst" 2.159m. The beautiful mountain tour in Hohen Tauern has only 919 altimeters. Other attractions on the tour are the two lakes big and small Scheibelsee, the pasture Scheibelalm and the nice hut - Edelrautehütte 1.708m. For security, this hike will be used only to attack if it can be assumed that the trails are dry.

Großer Knallstein 16,9 Km / 1493 m The hike on the mountain tour to the summit of the Großer Knallstein 2.599m is a very stamina-challenging hiking trip on a well marked trail without safety ropes and ladders. In any case, you should have a good fitness, for the entire tour takes about 9-10 hours. Good hiking shoes and a neatly packed bag is absolutely necessary because there is no managed hut on the Mountain tour . The Großer Knallstein Mountain tour is very eventful hike, as it leads from the idyllic mountain village St. Nikolai in Sölktal through the vegetation zones almost to the glaciers zone.

Haindlkar hut - Gesäuse 2,9 Km / 504 m The hike in Gesäuse to the Haindlkar hut (1.121m) is appropriate, despite the average 17% slope for children from 8-10 years. Interest are the many bizarre rock formation and varied climbing. Above Hikers expected one very nice hut with delicious styrian home cooking on a sunny terrace with wounderful views to the National Park Gesäuse.

Hesshütte - Gesäuse 13,8 Km / 925 m The hut "Hesshütte" is located in the beautiful Upper Styrian National Park Gesäuse on 1.699m. The Hesshütte was built in 1893 at the Ennsecksattel between the Gesäuse mountains Hochtor and Hochzinödl. The best start for families is the simpler path (route No: 601) at the inn "Kölblwirt" in Johnsbach 878m. The walking time up at the Hess house is about 3 hours and down ca. 2 to 2.5 hours.

Hintereggeralm 1-10 Km / 100-550 m On the pasture Hintereggeralm you can hike from Liezen, Weissenbach at Liezen and the Lexgraben in Pyhrn. Here you can also choose between different lengths. From the short or long walk up to a hike of about 1,5 to 2 hours. All forest roads and hiking trails have no special difficulties.

Hinteregg 8,4 Km / 397 m The Hinteregger hiking tour is an enjoyable, easy tour in the north of Liezen. It offers beautiful views to the Ennsvalley, the mountains Nazogl, Grimming and Dachstein. In the huts “Schlagerbauer Hütte and Kink Hütte” there is a very generous offer from the Styrian cheese, butter and roast meat.

Johnsbach legend trail 11,7 Km / 160m
The legend trail through the National Park Gesäuse after Johnsbach and retourns have a length of 11,7 Km and only 160 altimeters. The biggest attraction is designed for children of the new "Wild John". At just 1.6 km in the direction of Johnsbach was built in 2010, a total of 9 stations. The interactive stations are broken down in the winter. Before or after the walk is a visit to the Willowdome, which is located just across from the inn "Bachbrücke", highly recommended.

Kalbling 7,5 Km / 788 m The challenging hike to the 2.196m high mountain – Kalbling and Sparafeld 2.247m begins at the hut – Oberst Klinke Hütte 1.486m. The very beautiful and exciting half-day trip for experienced hikers offers wonderful views. High slip resistance, mountain boots and enough food is a prerequisite for a beautiful day near the National Park Gesäuse.

Lahngangkogel 1 8,9 Km / 686 m The Lahngangkogel on the hight plateau Kaiserau near Admont is a lightweight hiking destination for both young and old. From the parking lot on the Kaiserau the hike leads to the hut – Oberst Klinke Hütte and over the Kalblinggatterl to the little mountain Lahngangkogel. On the way back is the very beautiful pasture Wagenbänkalm.

Lahngangkogel 2 6,8 Km / 386 m The beautiful walk near the National Park Gesaeuse to the little mountain Lahngangkogel from the hut – Oberst Klinke Hütte is not difficult and therefore also suitable for families with children. The trail is not numbered and only at key points marked. Nevertheless, it is not difficult to follow the well-trodden trail to the hut - Wagenbänkalm. |

Mödlinger hut from Gaishorn 8 Km / 801 m A very shady hike tour, as it leads up to the last 500m through the forest. On the way up, you have not many vantage points. Riesachsee Schladming 6,9 Km / 336 m The starting point of the hike to the beautiful lake Riesachsee is by the Inn Riesachfall in Rohrmoos-Untertal. Rottenmanner hut 2 Km / 354 m The hiking trail to Rottenmanner hut starts at the large parking lot at the end of the MTB Tour Rottenmanner hut at 1.296m. Schwarzensee - Putzentalalm 12,3 Km / 312 m The hiking tour in the styrian community Kleinsölk from the hut Breitlahnhütte to the pasture Putzentalalm is 12.3 km long and only 312 altimeters. If that's too long, you walk only 7 km and 130 altimeters to the picturesque lake Schwarzensee. There are five huts. The Breitlahnhütte at the start of the hiking tour, Harmeralm and Schwarzenseealm near the lake Schwarzensee and the both huts Putzentalalm and Ringdorfer hut at the end.

Stoderzinken 5 Km / 375 m The easy hike from the mountain inn Steinerhaus to the little church Friedenskircherl with the hike to the summit of Stoderzinken offers magnificent views along the entire tour. Moreover, the height differences are relatively small, so that conditionally weaker hikers can walk this tour. With the mountain inn Steinerhaus and the both nice huts Tritscherhütte and Rosemi Alm are on the Stoderzinken 3 wonderful opportunities available for a nice rest. Tamischbachturm & Ennstaler hut 17 Km / 1.546 m The beautiful mountain hike in the National park Gesäuse to the 2.035m high Tamischbachturm begins at the parking by the National park pavilion in Gstatterboden 570m. On the 17 km, there are many good vantage points, beautiful pastures, the Ennstalerhütte ( nice hut ) and on top of Tamischbachturm one has a magnificent view. In the east beginning Hochschwab, many beautiful mountains in the National Park Gesäuse, the Dachstein glacier, some peaks in the Schladminger Tauern, Totes Gebirge, Haller Mauern and in the distance you can see also the Grossglockner. In addition to good physical condition are good shoes and plenty of food for the trip necessary.

Tauplitzalm 6 Lakes Tour 13,3 Km / 445 m The 6 Lakes Hiking Tour on the wonderful plateau Tauplitzalm is for the whole family a highly recommended and great experience. Families with young children and older people can shorten the hike by about 5 km and 200 vertical meters. They go first until km 5.2 to the bench „Steirersee Bankerl“. After the magnificent view of the mountain Sturzhahn and the about 150m deeper lake Steirersee you’ll hike 3 km back to the parking lot at Tauplitzalm.

Tressenstein 9,2 Km / 557 m This easy hiking tour to the 1.201m high Tressenstein begins near the mountain Grimming 2.351m in the small village Untergrimming / municipality Pürgg-Trautenfels. The hike begins at an altitude of 654m and the first 1.5 km you go on a very low traffic forest road in the south. First, rather flat and then slightly uphill. The last section before the sunny location at the Grimming hut on 966m is again very flat, and you have here a good view of the Grimming. On the summit you'll have a wonderful view to the ennstal valley, Tauplitz, Grimming and to some peaks in the alps - Schladminger Tauern.

The Ursprungalm at the end of the styrian valley Preunegg and on the border of Lungau offers a very easy loop trail and numerous medium to heavy hiking or mountain tours. Known was the very beautiful pasture in the mountains Schladminger Tauern as a location for the movie - Heidi. In addition to the Ursprungalm at the starting point for the hikes, there are still the Giglachseehütte, Ignaz-Mattis lodge and the cabin Oberhütte for a good stop and for the night.

Wörschachklamm 8,4 Km / 485 m The romantic Wörschachklamm was used until 1896 by carters as a transport route for timber and charcoal. But since the driving of wooden bridges in the steep gorge with horse was very dangerous, it gave up the route. Today, a well-secured gate leads with many wooden stairs and bridges through the gorge Wörschachklamm.
