After a good overnightstay and breakfast, we hike early in the
morning of the Hochmölbinghütte (1.683m) towards the hut - Liezener Hütte.
After about 30 minutes and 120 altimeters we reach the beautiful hut of the
Austrian Alpine Association - Section Liezen. The self-catering facility is
supervised only on the weekends.
After the Liezener Hütte we follows the 6 kilometers long climb pass Brunnalm
to the Elmscharte 2.203m. The first 2 km to the unmanaged Brunnalm have no major
climbs. When you arrive Brunnalm, go straight ahead towards Elmscharte passing the
meadow - Großwiese. The trail No. 285 is now steeper - particularly on the last
500m before you’ll reach the Elmscharte. There we enjoy a magnificent view to
Upper Austria and Styria. The Elmscharte is although no additional peak success,
but because of the previous pitch, from experience with a peak arrival almost synonymous.
After another 700m to the west we are reach the 2.281m high mountain - Schrocken. We look down to Hinterstoder and on
the small plateau - Höss. On Schrocken we meet climbers who move on from Hinterstoder
to the mountain - Schrocken and then hike with us in the direction to the
mountain Hochmölbing
At the mountain Schrocken begin the easy 3.5 km long ridge walk with five other
peaks. There are only 200 altimeters to overcome. After the Kaminspitz 2.322m
and Kreuzspitze 2.327m follows at 10.2 km the highest mountain of this mountain
tour, the Hochmölbing 2.336m. After the beautiful view we hike down to
Hochmölbinghütte and pass without yet another significant effort the mountain -
Mittermölbing 2.318m and Kleinmölbing 2.160m - provided with a very beautiful
mountain cross. After a very eventful 15 kilometers, we are back at the
Hochmölbinghütte and on the sunny terrace we end the day.
For overnight stays Hochmölbinghütte offers 8 beds and 46 mattresses - Reservations
and Contact.
