Until Ardningalm hut (4.5 km - 1020 Hm) you can drive by car, or mountain bike. The forest road (Nr.613), is not paved, but also for cars very easy to ride. Unfortunately mountain biking from Ardningalm to Mühlau / Hall bei Admont is prohibited, otherwise you could also take the entire tour by a mountain bike. It is a continuous forest path of Ardning to Hall bei Admont is present. Although the path between Ardningalm Bacheralm and would be somewhat difficult to navigate. Gradients up to 15%, many lose and larger stones and a few muddy places to overcome. The forest road down to Hall at Admont is better. For the hiking tour you need not necessarily fixed walking shoes. If you stay on the road you need only sneakers.

The Ardningalm hut is cultivated all year and a very popular destination for mountain bikers and hikers in summer and sled driver and ski touring in winter.
Wonderful panorama with the mountains Bosruck, Wildfrauenhöhe, Bachermauern and Haller Mauern, especially on the way from Ardningalm to Bacheralm. You can find on the Ardningalm also a very diverse vegetation. Even the arms of the municipality Ardning points out the rare, neat nature plants that occur on the Ardningalm and Pürgschachner Moor. About the Arlingsattel (very steep trail at km 7) you can reach the Arlingalmen in Upper Austria. Also 3 kilometers away there is the possibility to hike of the Rohrauerhaus towards Upper Austria.

The community Ardning - District Liezen - Enns valley - Upper Styria - Austria has about 1.250 inhabitants, is situated at an altitude of 696m and has an area of 34.03 km ². The first written mention of the name Ardning - Arniches was in year 1077. It is believed that the name of the Slavic community Ardning jar - 'ditch, ravine, gully, rill', is derived.

The Pürgschachner Moor at Ardning is one of the few still remaining completely natural bogs in Austria. On the nature trail at the edge of the 50-hectare nature reserve Pürgschachner Moor, one can see rare plants and animals. 17 dragonfly species, 350 butterfly species and some rare species of birds live in the Pürgschachner Moor. The carnivorous sundew is also included in the arms of the municipality Ardning. looked like a large area filled with red, yellow, brown mosses, herbs give an idea of heather and cotton grass as the landscape in the Ennsvalley in the Middle Ages before the regulation of Enns must have. The term bog has nothing to do with altitude, but that bulge out the peat layers several meters in height (as in a lens) and lose contact with groundwater. The curvature in Pürgschachner Moor is 5-7m and the peat layers, which have formed since the end of the last ice age reached a strength of up to 7m.

After the hike on the Ardningalm, or MTB - Tour Ardningalm especially the visit to the Sanctuary "Frauenberg" in Kulm next to the Kalvarienberg and one kilometer east of Ardning recommended. St. Mary's Church with the 2 beautiful Baroque towers is 130m above the Ennsvalley. First documented was the sanctuary Frauenberg by Admont in 1175 and since the beginning of the 15th Century began the pilgrimages to Frauenberg. In the sanctuary Frauenberg is a wonderful Japanese meditation garden, of which one has a magnificent view to the west through the mountain Grimming. A beautiful place of peace and especially suitable for emotional refuelling force. On the western side one prospect to Admont and the first mountains of the Gesäuse.

Activities Ardning in winter: skiing, cross country skiing, winter hiking, sledding, ice skating, curling.

Activities Ardning in summer: hiking, mountain biking, cycling, nature trail in Pürgschachner Moor, running, swimming in natural lake in Frauenberg, climbing.
