The well-signposted walk to the hut Hochmölbinghütte begins at the parking lot shortly before Schönmoos on 1.130m (space for 40 cars) - the last 700m before you'll reach Schönmoos you drive on a good gravel road. Or 1.1 miles earlier at the Mountain Hotel - Restaurant Panoramablick of 1.050m. The accessibility to the two car parks is via the paved mountain road that begins in the eastern district of Wörschach.

At first you'll walk 5.5 km northeast of Hochtausing and the unmanaged Langpoltneralm to the Langpoltnerklamml up to 1.580m. This section consists of a change from trail and forest road. Particularly impressive is the northern side of the mountain Hochtausing by the pasture Langpoltenalm.

On the 2.5 km long trail "Grazersteig" can be reached the hut Hochmölbinghütte from the Langpoltnerklamml. On the first part of the Grazersteig one already has a wonderful view over the valley Gnanitztal towards Tauplitz, and the mountains Grimming and Dachstein Glacier in the background. The last part of the trail Grazersteig in the east to Hochmölbinghütte goes slightly downhill (about-50Hm). 200m before you reach the hut Hochmölbinghütte as described in this tour in about 30 minutes to climb to the not-too-heavy little mountain Raidling (1.915m). The trail to the Raidling is very narrow and offers very nice meadows with many flowers. Quite above but you have to watch out for the south flank of Raidling is very steep. On the beautiful views all around you see as the mountains Hochmölbing, Türkenkarscharte, Taupitzalm, Dachstein, Grimming, Schladminger Tauern, Hochtausing and down into the Ennsvalley. The very well managed hut Hochmölbinghütte (1.683 meters) on the pasture Niederhüttenalm is open from early June to mid-October. The Liezener Hut (1.762m) is located 1.6 km east of the Hochmölbinghütte. The self-catering lodge of the OeAV Liezen offers 30 mattresses and two makeshift dormitories.

Other hiking tours of the Hochmölbinghütte and Liezener hut are to the mountains Hochmölbing (2.336m), Mittermölbing (2318), Kleinmölbing (2160), Schrocken (2281) and the Kreuzspitze (2.326m).

The descent from the Liezener hut on the Hochtor first leads through beautiful karst terrain with many attractive flowers. Between 12.6 and 13.6 km of the walk the trail is somewhat steep and rocky, but are not particularly difficult. Back at the Langpoltenalm you must be walk up a few meters and then you reach the forest road by the Langpoltenalm on which one returns to the starting point.

       

     

   

 
 
 

               

The Ennsvalley is in the middle of Austria and was named after the largest river in the valley. The Enns is a 254 kilometers long tributary of the Danube. It rises in the province of Salzburg in the Radstätter Tauern. From Salzburg the Enns flows eastwards through Styria. Between Admont and Hieflau in Upper Styria, the Enns breaks through a Narrow valley - the Gesäuse in the Ennstal Alps before it flows north to Upper Austria. In the last section is the Enns, the boundary between Upper and Lower Austria. Between the villages of Mauthausen and Enns empties the Enns, as 100m wide river, into the Danube.

The Ennsvalley is one of the major valleys in Austria, and forms the geological boundary between the Northern Limestone Alps and the Central Alps south of the river Enns. The mountains of the northern Limestone Alps are often very steep and less forested than the south of the Central gentler mountains are more accessible for hikers. Where the mountains from east to west are becoming increasingly burdensome. The upper Ennsvalley at the border between the Austrian provinces of Salzburg and Styria, the Enns river flows south past the Dachstein glacier. The Dachstein 2.995m is the highest mountain in Styria. The people in the Ennsvalley live mainly from tourism and agriculture.

The largest alpine winter sports region can be found around Schladming, Dachstein-Tauern-region. The Ennsvalley is thus a wonderful holiday destination for skiers, snowboarders, ski mountaineers, skiers and those seeking relaxation in the winter, and many tourists come in summer, at the Enns valley to hiking, climbing, mountaineering, mountain biking and exploring by bicycle on one of the many cycling the beautiful Alpine area . The Dead Mountains lies in the eastern Alps and belongs to the northern limestone alps. The 1.130km² divided to districts Liezen, Gmunden and Kirchdorf an der Krems on in the two provinces of Styria and Upper Austria. The plateau of the Dead Mountains themselves divided into Priel, Warscheneck, and Schoenberg group. In the largest karst area in Europe, the water drained very quickly and therefore the area is barren. Dachstein limestone and dolomite are the two most common types of rock in the Dead Mountains. The Dead mountain is also known for its about 600 caves and wells. The Schoenberg-cave system is with 125 kilometers and a depth of 1070m, the longest cave. The highest mountain in the Dead Mountains is the "Große Priel with 2.515m. The most famous lakes in the Dead Mountains are: Altausseer Lake, Grundlsee, Offensee, Almsee, Ödsee, Elmsee, Schwarzensee, Steirersee, Lahngangseen and Wildensee. Besides the well known ski resorts Loser, Tauplitzalm, Hinterstoder and Wurzeralm the Dead Mountains in winter offers a great many ski tours, tobogganing, cross-country trails and lovely, romantic villages in winter dress. In the summer coming, many mountain bikers, cyclists, hikers, mountaineers, climbers, paragliders and recreation seekers to the area of the Dead Mountains.
