The trail around lake Altaussee is 7.8 kilometers long and has some very slight gradients of a few meters, so the total altitude amount to only 68m. A good starting point for the tour around the lake, or the extended afternoon walk is the car park in front of the village "Fischerndorf". The height profile describes the hike clockwise from Fischerndorf to Seewiese and after Altaussee back. Because of the marked path "1a" around the lake was restored recently and was distributed in some places he is suitable for strollers. Particularly beautiful is the walking, or jogging around the lake Altaussee in autumn when the scenery in the Salzkammergut region due to the many beech trees in red, green and yellow discoloration. Since there are no large-scale resorts, it's always quiet Altausseersee. On the southern shore at mountain Tressenstein there are some flat, very romantic shore sections which are particularly worth a pause. In Altaussee can be rented before or after hiking around the Altausseersee also an electric boat or take a small boat, or relax in the restaurants on Altausseer lake on the beautiful terraces. Altaussee is surrounded by fantastic mountains like the Loser, Tressenstein, Ahornkogel and Trisselwand. On sunny days you can see from Altaussee to Sarstein and the Dachstein glacier. Who wants to see more from the Salzkammergut and the mountains in the Dead Mountains can e.g. hike from the "Seewiese" at the other end of the lake Altaussee on the pastures Augstwiesalm and Wildenseealm to lake Wildensee at 1535m. The hikes on the Tressensattel to Grundlsee, Tressenstein, Ahornkogel and Trisselwand are very interesting. |
