  The holiday region Pyhrn Priel consists of the municipalities: Hinterstoder, Vorderstoder, Spital Pyhrn, Windischgarsten, Edlbach, Pasching, Rossleithen, Klaus / Steyrling and St. Pankratz.

Highlights of the holiday region Pyhrn / Priel are the two ski areas Wurzeralm and Hinterstoder, as well as numerous cross-country ski trails. E.g. The cross-country and biathlon center in the Innerrosenau at the foot of Hengstpaß with 26 kilometers cross-country and all facilities for the biathletes. A portion of the system can be supplied with artificial snow and in summer the plant acts as a skate park for inline skates, roller skis, and shooting, with a 2 kilometers long line of fine asphalt. Particularly reliable snow ski trails are found in the ski resorts and Wurzeralm / Höss - Hinterstoder. There are sled pave Edlbach, Pasching, Hinterstoder and Spital Pyhrn make with the toboggan runs in Hinterstoder and Rosenau possible, with floodlights also sledding at night. The most famous lakes in the Dead Mountains are: Altausseersee, Grundlsee, Offensee, Almsee, Ödsee, Elmsee, Schwarzensee, Steirersee, Lahngangsee and Wildensee. Besides the well known ski resorts Loser, Tauplitzalm, Hinterstoder and Wurzeralm the Dead Mountains in winter offers a great many ski tours, tobogganing, cross-country ski trails and lovely, romantic villages in winter dress. In the summer coming, many mountain bikers, cyclists, hikers, mountaineers, climbers, paragliders and recreation seekers to the area of the Dead Mountains.
