The managed pasture Fuchsalm is located on the Pyhrnpass in the community Spital am Pyhrn between the provinces of Styria and Upper Austria. Of the two starting points you’ll hike only 1,4 - 1,5 km to Fuchsalm. And one sees and hears nothing more from the traffic, because a small hill is between the road and the pasture. In a place with an area of about 18ha up to 15 young cattle spend the summer. The Fuchsalm is managed and so the hikers enjoy the fresh farm products on the Fuchsalm.

Version 1: At both starting points, there is a parking lot. From the starting point on the southern side, we go first on a forest road through the Pyhrnbachgraben. Only between km 0,4 and 0,7 km, the forest road is 16% steep. Before and the last meters to the Fuchsalm are only slightly uphill.

Version 2: The marked trail Nr.611 begins just across from the parking lot at the pass. Through the woods we go over a small hill and continue at 1.2 km to the forest road. Then the last 300m are identical to the version through the Pyhrnbachgraben.

On the walks and mountain hikes to Harting, Lahnerkogel, Kitzstein and Bosruck we even pass the Fuchsalm.
