The 36-kilometer bicycle tour Pöllau - South begins in Pöllau and leads with a one-lane road through Schönegg. Then it goes through Stubenberg and Rabenwald back to Pöllau. On this cycling tour is not only enjoys the beauty of Pöllauertal but also the beautiful scenery around Stubenberg that lies at the Styrian Apple Road and Castle Road. The Pöllautal in eastern Styria has an area of 122 square kilometers and consists of the municipalities Pöllau, Pöllauberg, Rabenwald, Schönegg, and Sonnhofen Saifenboden. The hilly landscape of forests, meadows, fields and many fruit trees offers a plenty of variety, beautiful views and wonderful places to stay for nature lovers.

The original and rustic atmosphere affects all visitors a very soothing and relaxing.

The main town is the community Pöllau. In the first in the 12th Century documentary mentioned community now live about 2,200 inhabitants. Pöllau means "rock broad valley."  Pöllauberg is one of the most popular pilgrimage in Styria and counts about 100,000 visitors every year.

Typical dishes of the region of Styria are pumpkin seed oil, cider, naturally pure apple juice, honey, brandy, wine, styria beef and lamb. Stressed individuals found in eastern Styria a lot offers of wellness, by using the Kneipp, bath, sauna and so the mind and body will be regenerate and re-invigorated.

In winter you can ski in eastern Styria, cross country skiing, snowshoeing and ski touring, spas and thermal baths. Eastern Styria is divided into 6 tourist areas. 1.  holiday region Teichalp-Sommeralm, 2 Jogelland Wechselland, 3 Nature park Pöllauer valley, 4 Country Hartbergerland, 5 Apple country and 6 Thermal region. In the holiday region Teichalp Sommeralm one finds an almost alpine mountain pastures up to 1720 m, in which one can do in the winter skiing and great walks. In summer, the Teichalp offers a lot of hiking tours boat trip on the lake and then wonderful fish meals.

The Jogelland is to know a quiet holiday region in which one walks to the old mills and by wayside crosses along the mountain streams, forests and pastures in many places view the magnificent landscape. Trips are for example The Rosegger forest home (famous Austrian writer), castle and zoo Herberstein, monastery Vorau.
The nature park Pöllauertal offers around 120 km of marked hiking trails through the hills and valleys with pastures, orchards, vineyards, and vegetable fields in the original, rustic atmosphere. On the walks are old farm buildings and house mills. The "Pearl of the East Styria" is famous for its 40 kilometers long bridle paths, or known carriage rides and specialties in the rustic wine taverns. Pöllau is the economic and cultural center with about 2,200 inhabitants. The village is also geographically in the middle of nature park Pöllauertal. It belongs to the district of Hartberg and the Styrian Joglland.

On Hartberger country people will find favour with interest in history. In the often varied austrian history over the last approximately 3,000 years ago, Romans, Goths, Mongols, Slavs, the Franks, the Magyars, the Turks and Kuruc, celts were here. Excursions are Neuburg, the castle, with a wonderful view over the Hartberger country.

In apple country fertile soils, mild climate and abundant sunshine thrive the apples.
