The MTB - Tour Edelrautehütte - Hölleralm in Hohentauern starts at the parking lot of the cross-country ski center Hohentauern at an altitude of 1240m. After the 300m long, flat road to the toll station, starts the 4.7 kilometers long climb up to Edelrautehütte - 1.708m. The toll road is paved up to the large parking lot, which is located about 500m before the Edelrautehütte. Do not worry - because of the very brittle asphalt cars may not drive quickly and for us bikers feel the asphalt road up to as comfortable as a good gravel road. The average gradient is 10%. After the first steep section you pass at kilometer 0.6 flat the "3 Lacken" - Three coatings on a short flat section. The mountain bike tour to Edelrautehütte will almost entirely through the forest. To Hölleralm you drive back on a mountain bike first 1.7 kilometers, the toll road down until the dirt road begins at a hairpin bend. Without major climbs and a total of slightly sloping you'll reach the Hölleralm at km 10.2 and 1448m. Even the cultivated Hölleralm offers a wonderful view. The last 5 kilometers of mountain biking in Hohentauern Hölleralm start with a 600m climb back to the forest road and on the trail you reach the parking lot at the ski cross-country center after 15 kilometers.

If you want to avoid the traffic on the toll road, you can ride the up and downhill on Hölleralm in the opposite direction. The tour to Edelrautehütte is twice as long, but also much easier.
