The cross-country trail on the upper austrian ski resort Wurzeralm is 5.6 km long. The sunny ski resort is located near the Pyhrnpass on the border between Styria and Upper Austria. Because of the altitude between 1.360m - 1.440m the whole ski area and thus the cross-country trail is very snow-sure. As you can see from the photos there is no particular view. But the mountains between the Stupwieswipfel in the east and the Warscheneck 2.388m high in the west form a wonderful panorama.

The Wurzeralm – cross country trail is very easily accessible. The use of the cross-country ski trail is free. One needs only pay for the ascent and descent by the lift. The funicular railway is located, including a large parking lot adjacent to the road B138. The motorway in Spital am Pyhrn is just a few miles away. Both trails are groomed for skating and classic.

At the beginning there is an easily mastered going down on the well-groomed ski trail to the start of the approximately 80m deeper Teichlböden. There you can choose between the long, medium round and the short cross-country with just a few altimeters. After the scenic, wonderful round on the Wurzeralm you must run up again the 10% slope to the mountain station. For a few euros but it is also possible with the Linzerhaus lift travel high directly to the mountain station.

In summer the Wurzeralm is a starting point for easy to challenging mountain hikes and walks, such as on Stubwieswipfel, Rote Wand or Warscheneck 2.388 m. The newly created circular walk 2 million years leads to the largest raised bog in eastern Limestone Alps, past a variety of plant life to the beautiful town of Brunnsteiner lake. For climbers there is in the south-east ridge of Warscheneck a secure climbing. Walking time 1.5 hours.

The ski resort Wurzeralm extends from 810 to 1870m and includes 20 km of ski trails (8 easy, 10 moderate and 2 difficult). The ski area is located in Upper Austria near the Pyhrnpass. Only 2km away there is a exit from the highway A9 Pyhrnautobahn. Directly at the basestation is a large parking lot.
Of the 7 lifts in the ski resort Wurzeralm especially the cable car is worth. The lift leads from the valley to the Teichlboden at about 1400Hm. With a chair lift you‘ll reach the Frauenkar (1870m) at the foot of the mountain Warscheneck. With chair lift was built to the Gammeringsattel (1805m). There are also 3 ski lifts and a rope tow and magic carpet in the Sunny Kids Park. Children under 10 years can ski free when parents purchased simultaneously a ski card. (IDs required). Particularly reliable snow ski trails are found in the ski resorts and Wurzeralm / Höss - Hinterstoder.
