The Lake Iseo - Lago d'Iseo is in the northern Italian region of Lombardy. With 65,3 km ², it is the fourth largest lake in northern Italy. Lake Iseo is fed by the River Oglio. Special features of Lake Iseo is the larger island of Monte Isola at the height of the city Sulzano. The island has a coastline length of 9 km and extends up to 400m from the Lake Iseo. On the island life not quite 2,000 inhabitants. Tourists only allowed do explore the island by bus or non-motorized. Even the people only drive mopeds or scooters, as is necessary for cars and trucks a rarely granted special permission.
To drive around the lake Iseo the road was cut in several places on the rock. In contrast to Lake Como or Lake Garda Lake Iseo is as tourist destination not so well known and so the tourism is not so pronounced. Because of the favorable case winds many sailors and surfers come to the 25km long Lake Iseo. In the south begins the wine region Franciacorta.
